On Paul M.’s letter, and on small-claims court.

Dear Readers,

Today’s letter, by Paul Maliszewski, is the sequel to his letter about the giant moving sale, which we published a few weeks ago. What was not sold in the giant moving sale was loaded into a truck, and driven, by Paul, from upstate New York to the new south – today’s letter recounts the drive.

At 2 p.m. Durham time today, Paul and Monique will plead their case in small-claims court in Durham, North Carolina. A gag order prohibits me from explaining just whom they are suing, and why, but it is relevant to today’s letter: the damages they seek were incurred in the course of the move that Paul has been recounting in his open letters. The only thing I can tell you is that they are not suing the woman who stole the watch inepisode one.

This letter concludes our week of letters from returning correspondents. On the weekend, subscribers will receive their copy of vol. II, no. 4 of the Open Letters weekly, delivered, for free, to their in-box; to join them in subscribing, please visit this page.

Yours truly,

Paul Tough
